  • very cheeky tip ask for a sample at each counter with an estee lauder. have been using their testers in a ligher shade than ecru to tide me over till the spring- when i can use a deeper foundation. Just ask for a sample in a few different places- it will allow you to delay buying a bottle for a little while.

i love double wear as it is very money saving it lasts so long has great coverage and does not need fixing spray. it is fab- using cheaper foundations sometimes can cost more.

I second going Debenhams etc to do a tour of Ester Lauder, Chanel, Yves st Laurent. They will be happy to supply samples when you explain you want to see how the foundation sits on your skin before you buy.

As for double wear I love the coverage but as it is powder based find it can accentuate lines and sit in pores. The Yves St Laurent touche eclat foundation is more flattering for mid-mature skin (40+).

However in my search for something cheaper I took advantage of the No7 342 offer the other day and think I have found my personal favourite. No7 airbrush primer and they colour matched my skin to cool vanilla in their foundation range. The coverage is just as effective as double wear imo but without the powdery finish that can give that cakey look. It's about £14. I got the primer, foundation, and then a colour matched lipstick for free so 3 items for the price of one double wear foundation. Worth checking out.

Do not let anyone tell you its the same as the original as it isnt!
It has added moisture in it and it is amazing!!!!
  • So...

Our make up counters do not like giving out freebies but I like your thinking!

I've kept with the Revlon, It's actually not bad - It stays on for the time I need it to, and I don't seem to be using any more than normal. The colour is slightly lighter but no ones really noticed

Thanks for all the help :)
