Can't apply Amazon promo code to goods bought on Amazon?

I went for the MSE recommended buy a £30 gift voucher get a £7 Amazon promo code deal. Promo code expires in April. Tried to apply it to a £12 purchase (bal to go on credit card) and get message saying it cannot be applied to this purchase (The Terms say anything "Bought from Amazon". It doesn't say invalid code as if it was mistyped though.

Do such voucher codes only apply to "Fulfilled by Amazon"?

Try it on a similar item (but one which is FBA), which might give you the answer. Otherwise try CS if the T&Cs don't help.

I'm pretty sure credit from these schemes is only valid against products "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon", as opposed to sold by a third party using Amazon's fulfilment scheme. Could that be the issue?

As MSE advised in their weekly e-mail: 'The code can only be used on items dispatched and sold by Amazon, not third-party sellers (this will be clearly marked on screen). '

    Found the blurb
"We'll e-mail you a £7 promotional code, two days after your gift card purchase. The £7 promotional code can be spent on products sold by Amazon on Amazon.co.uk"
If Amazon's the selling agent then it's being sold by Amazon IMO

Absolutely - except the offer applies only where Amazon is NOT selling as an agent, it is selling direct. Amazon is only the seller when it is listed as 'sold by Amazon'. It will be Amazon who dispatch it, not some third party/market seller. Not sure where your confusion lies? Perhaps contact CS if you are still aggrieved.

I went for an earlier one and Amazon denied that it ever existed so my advice is grab screenshots.
