We always have milk delivered by our local milk man. We ran out of milk over the weekend so I got some from Morrisons, we have blue top full fat milk, question I have is why does the milk in supermarkets taste different then my bottles fresh milk, our coffee was un-drinkable, is it just a one off or does all supermarket milk taste different?

I'm not 100% sure, but could do with it being in a glass bottle as opposed to a plastic bottle?
Maybe supermarket milk goes through more filtering processes?0 -
I have always assumed it is the carton as it is definitely different0

It's the same stuff, from the same farms and producers.0

Unless you've been buying UHT by mistake, supermarket milk is just as fresh as that from the milkman.0

Different dairies possibly. There's a distinctly different taste between our Muller supplied shops and Arla supplied shops locally. Xxx0

Perhaps your delivered milk is not homogenized.
Does your milk have the "cream" at the top - like delivered milk used to have before supermarket milk became common?
If yes, there is your answer.

At the farm end - different cows, food, grass, fed indoor or out, water, parts of the country and abroad
Different dairies - fat content, water
When I first drank milk direct from the cow I found it extremely rich and was very sick.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
