MSE have their own best buy tables for mortgages

They do thanks - they do seem to be missing some providers/deals that are on Google Search though.

moneysupermarket is always a good one. Seem to have the best high street rates from what i have seen in my searching.

Your local whole of market mortgage broker will likely have the widest range.

I realise I may come across as biased, but comparison sites often do not include some of the smaller lenders who can at times offer very competitive rates and/or a better experience (ie less hassle, quicker etc).

The funny thing is that it is very rare when I talk to people they actually want the cheapest rate. When discussing the options in depth it is normal for people to want something different from their mortgage. Our commission is not linked to the rate so it is not in my interest to come back with a more expensive product.

When buying people usually want a smooth process with as few hiccups as possible as there is so much relying on it.

Thanks for you replies - when at the point of mortgaging I will be using a broker but I like to be able to see what is out there general but also I accept that it wont cover the whole market.

The MSE website didn't seem to include the 2 year fix at Barclays, hence the question.

They don't include lenders that don't pay them.

If you want biased basic information and no advice and no idea if a product is suitable for you they are a good bet.
