Hiya-just wondering if anyone had any experience with this store or could give me any advice moving forward?
Ordered a dining table and four chairs on 18/10/15 for £529-paid 200 up front and were advised it could take 16 weeks as it was coming from Vietnam-we thought this was a bit long but hadn't seen anything else we liked so went for it.
We were in Belfast after about fourteen weeks had passed so called in to chase up and were told there were delays due to Chinese New Year.we thought this was a bit odd but we just left it because there were two weeks delivery time left anyway.
After the 16 weeks I got my partner to call them to chase up-the number he had been given wasn't working so I googled to make sure it was the right one-stumbled upon yell.com and found all 1star reviews for the store talking about being fobbed off, lied to about delivery dates, rude management, inability to get refunds, damaged items, people threatening legal action etc-not good at all(incidentally I put a review up last night but for some reason now it's saying that business doesn't exist)
We then went in store to chase up-they checked our item then said someone had been trying to call us(they hadn't) as the girl who took our order works part time and had written the wrong style of chair down-we confirmed which ones we wanted and he said he would chase it up-he called us back and said they were in the warehouse and take a few days to get moved over so he would call us on the Monday or Tuesday to arrange delivery.
Called them back on the following Monday and apparently it's still on a shipping container-and this has been the response we have had ever since-constant fobbing off and we spoke to the manager who was so rude and said 'I don't think 19 weeks is that long to wait' and when asked how long he thought was too long,he said 21 weeks.weel it's 22.5 weeks now and nothing-called last night and someone is going to phone is today at eleven but I'm not holding my breath
We have stayed nice until now-should we be being horrible?are we entitled to a refund at this point?(which I don't actually want,I want the table but don't even know if it exists at this point).are there any laws to cover consumers in these instances or do I just have to put it up to experience?
Finding it very hard to find any details about the company or an area manager or anything, very little info online which I find a bit concerning.
Sorry this is so long but any help would be greatly appreciated-we sold our own dining table months ago so just have a big space in the dining room (first world problems I know)

You really are at their mercy - time to decide if you are prepared to wait or if you want a refund. If they won't agree to an immediate refund contact your card provider who will deal with it.0

Yes I figured as much although looking at reviews refunds are very hard to get as well as they say they will take at least thirty days and so the fobbing off continues!
Unfortunately we didn't get a credit card til after this meaning we out the deposit on a debit card so don't think we can get any help with a refund either :-(Mortgage free wannabe #124

We saw a table we quite liked, but in the end went with oak furniture land and much happier.
The reviews for World of Furniture are very mixed on trust pilot etc, their customer service is meant to be awful. The long, long waits are also what put us off. We waited 12 days with Oak furniture land.
If it was me, I'd be saying, 'F U, give me my money back'. They haven't kept to their agreed terms. Go in to the store and kick up a fuss if the phone doesn't get you anywhere, and you want a refund..0 -
Ordered three sets of bedroom furniture from them.
The first came within the quoted 16/17 weeks.
The second took about 21/22 weeks.
The third was a lot longer at approximately 30 weeks. I actually got some money back when this was delivered due to the problem (this was actually offered as opposed to being requested).
The quality and price of their stuff is top-notch but I would highly advise against ordering there if you are in any rush (I wasn't).
In your position, I'd just wait a little longer as opposed to going the refund route as you're already at the 22 week point.0 -
We actually went up last Thursday to collect the items as they had come in-got up there and the chairs they had ordered in were the wrong ones and were also different to the stock on display (nowhere near as strong or heavy as the ones on the shop floor). They have phoned today to say that the correct chairs are there and we can collect on Thursday-if they are of different quality than what is on the shop floor can we ask for a refund still?we actually noticed a letter on their desk last Thursday which was from a solicitor complaining about goods being different from sample stock so I think this isn't the only time this has happened.
I was also in another furniture shop today in ballymena and a man said he was currently waiting on a refund from them and had been waiting three months for it.Mortgage free wannabe #124

Yes you did the right thing going elsewhere-it's not even the wait that has annoyed me it's the awful customer service and the lies that they tell you! We have been nice to them so far as no point losing the rag but if the goods on Thursday aren't as expected then we are going to go down the refund route because it's been 23 weeks nowMortgage free wannabe #124
