Small claims court mess up..

Lowell are taking me to small claim for £8 00 which may be statute barred and I never signed a cca for.
When I got the court papers I panicked and enter some awful statement on the online form that's pickled up and not in my favour.
So I did the paper form and posted that in to the court. Onky today they have sent it me back saying I need to do a N244 form instead to amend it..only it looks like I have to pay £100 or £255 ti amend my stament. Is this right or is that for making a order.the forms not in the plainest of English. I can't afford £100 or the greater amount but with what I wrote I can't see this going in my favour 😣

Hi FloraLaura,
Has the judgement been awarded yet? If it has then you can apply to Set Aside the CCJ (effectively, take the judgement back to the beginning). This is done on an N244 form and can cost up to £155. You should take some legal advice to confirm whether (a) if this is the right course of action and (b) whether you can do this if you have already filed a defence before.
If the judgement has not be granted yet then I would suggest you speak to the court about whether or not you can amend/ clarify your defence before the case is heard. Good luck,
Laura

Sorry FloraLaura, there were some fee changes that came into effect yesterday and the N244 form will be £255 for a Set Aside application as of the 21st March 2016.
