You can have as many prescriptions as you need or even want including stupid ones for paracetamol, aspirin and ibuprofen which you could buy for pennies over the counter.
Get the PPS today and you can claim for the prescription you buy today.
It is £29.10 for 3 months but it's slightly cheaper if you pay monthly at £10.40 per month (you only pay for 10 months of the year) at £104/year or what would be £26 for 3 months.
I know it's only £1 per month saving but I look for savings everywhere and it allows me to not have to work as I can live on a very low income.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Provided that you are issued with prescriptions monthly, you can get a whole year's prescriptions using three 3 month PPCs, at a total cost of £87.30.0 -

you will be sent the certificate.
It will be valid from the date you applied unless you asked for a later date on the form.
I f you need a prescription before you receive your certificate you will need to pay but ask the chemist for an NHS receipt. You must et the receipt at the time, the chemist cannot issue it later.
The receipt has instructions on how to claim back the payment.0 -

No you don't. When you buy your PPC you are given the serial number over the phone, you then give that number to the chemist when you collect your meds. No need to pay anything.0 -
