Botox for wrinkles in London?

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for who to see in London for botox without paying the earth. My poor forehead is full of wrinkles, and I would love to give this a try, but I've seen some crazy pricelists. But then I don't want to go down the cheapest route just for the sake of it and sacrifice skill. Does anyone have any experience they could share with me?

TIA!

  • i love botox. i have had it 3 times now but not for ages. i would love it again but just can't afford it at the mo.
try and get a few consultations first and see what they reccommend. how much you pay depends on how many areas you need. i was advised (by a dr who performed botox) never have it below your eyes. i think its very much a forehead and between the eyes thing. you will love the results!
    go for it!
  • It costs a lot because the product costs an arm and a leg, as does the insurance to practise.
I would expect your minimum cost to be starting at around £160-£200 for one area.
Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you are usually right.
  • Thanks for the super quick replies! I think I'd need two areas done...my forehead and between the eyebrows.

Would you have any recommendations of who to go to?
  • I'm not sure I would know of anyone I would specifically recommend, but I would advise going to someone who has had lots of experience with it, and make sure they are using Botox or Dysport as they are the best products.
There will be loads of places offering it. I would look for a plastic surgeon, trained nurse or dentist, and avoid beauty salons to be on the safe side and to avoid possible side effects.

Just curious, why is that do you know?

I had botox done, max 3 areas for £195. Ex NHS Doctor in clinic in Kensington, I was v happy with the results, very natural! Send me a pm if you'd like his tel no.
  • Just as a rule of thumb, botox above the eyes, fillers below.
This is because the musculature gets complicated below the eyes and it can be easy to zap something extra and give a patient a droppy lip.
There are instances you can use botox below the eyes though, but its for the advanced practitioner. For example, treating a gummy smile, getting rid of some lines around the lip, nose bunny lines, some eye wrinkles, neck wrinkles. So quite a lot really!

Ensure you get it done by a Dr and not a nurse.

As a qualified nurse with over 20years experience..just interested to know why you say this? Every nurse I know, works to a high professional standard and would never undertake any procedure we did not feel competent to do and without the correct training.

Same reason I would not get an endoscopy done by a nurse. Specifically regarding botox, a number of consultant dermatologists I have spoken to have advised the same. Furthemore, the (limited) research on the subject shows better patient satisfaction when procedure performed by Dr vs Nurse at 3 months.
