    the advice of payment from nhs stated 803L M1 and the P2 stated 803L X replaces 1060L The P2 is for 2015-2016 which I received in dec. It says although they are changing my tax code I still may not pay enough by 5th april 2016 and hmrc think the amount I will owe is 389.47 and they will let me at the end of the year when they have checked my pay and tax info
    the figures on the P2 are
    personal allowance 10600
    less state pension 2566
    total tax free amount 8034

    The X denotes the use as a non cumulative tax code.

    Well why the correct amount of state pension was not used I have no idea. Basically you have been paying less tax since your state pension began and it looks like the amount is about right for the underpayment.
