Wedding packages have changed for the better after we've signed the contract!

This may seem abit bizarre, as most contracts tie you in to stop any price increases, but our venue has changed the way they structure their pricing and now offer packages as oppose to venue hire, food, drink etc..

So in this case, I signed a contract last September for a price for venue hire, a drinks and wedding breakfast package per person and because i did not want evening food they wrote it into my contract that I would have to book out all 25 bedrooms (which are pretty pricey).

Now they do packages which give no specific monetary breakdown but include the bedrooms in the cost, plus all food (including evening) drinks and even more for less value than I've signed for!

Do I have any grounds to change my contract to one of the new packages without having to cancel and re-book as i would lose too much money!!

You need to check the terms of the contract that you agreed, but "grounds to change" .... probably not.

Nothing to stop you asking though.

You could ask them nicely but I doubt you have a contractual right to.
