HM Rice Pops

I have just been enjoying some mid-afternoon rice pops (ok, the baby's leftovers
) and wondering how easy it might be to DIY. I have endless kilos of long grain rice that I'll never eat, however turned into rice pops there may be half a chance they are used up.
I came across these greasy offerings on WikiHow, and then this blog, which seems to offer a bit of science behind it, but is still not entirely satisfactory on account of the fact that I want to use up the rice I have, not buy different rice!
Any ideas?

I saw a program on BBC about food production. It was something like Jimmy's food factory and had a segment about production of rice pops .
If I remember it was difficult and involved some explosive energy.

I read about this while trying to discover how those popped rice cakes were made. It appears to be sticky tai rice or similar. I tried it at home with some that I bought specially and wasn't really impressed with my results LOL .0
