You and me both, I haven't been on here for a while, and that sinking/drowning feeling is creepy back. Coming on here gives me the confidence that I can tackle my debts and survive on no money!
Look forward to seeing your posts!!!!1Why didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:

I've been reading these boards for ages but never sure where to post, so going to jump onto this one.
I am £18k in debt and have recently started to save - only £218 so far, but adding about £30 a week. It's quite novel the whole saving thing and giving me bit of a warm glow!
I am trying to sort my £18k, but every time i speak to my creditors/debitors (not sure what to call them) and explain my situation and offer them the same amount every time, they just say we cannot accept that. I have been waiting for 3 months for my bank account to be passed to recoveries, which they keep saying they will do, but each month the interest goes up on my account. Arrggghhh. I just want them to agree to a set price for the next two or three years so i can begin to pay it off and watch the £18k come down.
Have a 1pm tel appointment so going to ask again and point out that I am now 5 month preggers so really need to get something agreed as it's really stressing me out.
Look forward to helping cheer anyone up and being cheered on by others.
Thanks! :rolleyes:0 -
Hi, have you tried talking to CCCS, none of my creditors would accept my payments but they did from them and payments were less! They go thru a budget etc with you. I found they really helpful. I was able to sleep after speaking to them although did spend most of the time on phone to them crying, it was really hard facing up to problem. Good luck xxWhy didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:

Hiya
I did talk to the CCCS a while back, and it was massively helpful. Unfortunately my creditors would not accept what I was offering.
However, I spoke to my bank at 1pm today re my od and loan and they have finally sent my file to recoveries, which is great as it means the interest will at last be frozen and i can start my countdown in paying them off. Have worked out it'll take about 12 years whilst i am on low income. Eeeeek. But I have after all had the money and spent it.
Just got one more loan co to try and persuade, but they've been very unwilling so far. Ironically this is the Co-op bank who you would think would be more friendly - how naive of me to think they are any different to any other bank!0 -
