ooh yes i agree with you there!! The prepped fresh stuff is really expensive in little bags:(.
I tend to roast a whole one(cut in half and deseeded) then scoop out the flesh to use ins soups/casseroles.
It saves the peeling and chopping but you still have to deal with the seeds.
You can plant them.:D0 -

Frozen mash is great when making cottage pie too, I really can't be bothered to chop onions and carrots and fry mince for the sauce, as well as peeling and boiling potatoes. So a fresh cottage pie base with frozen mash used for the top is fine in my opinion.0
