Are there Highland Cows near Edinburgh / Perth ???

I live in Edinburgh and am taking 2 Aussies for a wee trip to Perthsire on Wednesday to sample some fine Whisky and they would also like to see a real live Highland Coo.

I can't remember where I was when I have seen them before, so if anyone has any places that there are some for definate on the way up to and around Pitlochry, it would be most appreciated

There are highland cows at Kathellan (formerly known as The Butterchurn)www.kathellan.co.uk/rare_breeds/default.htm which is just off the M90 Edinburgh to Perth Motorway at Kelty, Fife, at junction 4.

There are also highland cows at Scone Palace about 3 miles outside Perth on the Blairgowrie Road.

Just to let you know there are none left at Kathellan as they kept escaping and wandered down to Kelty, but we saw 2 at Blair Atholl and my tourist chums were happy

There are some on the right hand side of the riverside road on the way into Dundee..the pale one is especially cute.:D

I am so sorry for giving you wrong information about Kathellan. They did have Highland Cows when I was there and as they show photos of them on their web site I thought they still had them.

No it's fine, it was on the way anyway ! I just wanted to reply it to the thread incase anyone does a search in future.

I am off to Skye and surrounds soon so will see loads more
