AIP with Post Office, but want to apply with FD

Hi
Approximately one month ago, I got an AIP from the Post Office, as we were putting an offer in on a house.
Long story short, our offer was rejected for a lesser offer () and it has taken us a few weeks to find another house we like.
I've searched through various rates and have seen good rates with First Direct.
My question is, as there was an initial credit check for the PO AIP, will this affect our ability to get an AIP from FD? Our credit files should both be clean (no o/s loans, CCs, etc), but it will show the PO application.
Any advice would be gratefully received! I did phone First Direct, but they were unable to give me a definate answer

There is no definitive answer.
Each check you do lowers your chance for the next one, at some point a lender will say now.
