Hi, after seeing PPI stuff everywhere i've decided to look into this as i had PPI but it was on car finance from around 1989.
Is there any point in trying to chase something from this far back? The company in question was Benton Finance but i don't have any documentation at all in relation to this

you make the complaint to the car dealer. Not the lender. However, most car dealers were not regulated until Jan 2005. So, most will reject the complaint as pre-regulation.
You can ask the dealer if they would consider a complaint but I would guess they have no documentation from 27 years ago and will go with a pre-regulation rejection.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Ummm, that's probably why I've never bothered with the whole PPI thing, dealer went of business years ago.0
