Hi,
Just wondering what the costs involved would be on remortgaging to a different lender?

Early repayment penalty on existing mortgage?
Discharge fee on existing mortgage?
Valuation fee?
Arrangement/product/booking fee?
Legal costs?

EPC on a remortgage?
ERC (Early Repayment Charge) possible if on currrent mortgage and depending on lender, charges such as 'Account fee', 'Exit fee' but check with current lender for that
Alot of residential remortgage give free legals and free basic valuation (possibly a desktop valuation) so ideally you wont have many!PoorMoon

Sorry I'm not very knowledgeable regarding mortgages etc. I have been with Santander for around 15years and its on,y since reading posts on here have I thought about moving lenders.
Currently owe just over £56k, house prob worth around £70-75k (brought just before the crash:( so will only get more or less what we paid for it) Current deal is 4.74% on a variable rate. Have just remortgaged with them for 2.99% for two years but I have a 14 day cooling off period.
The variable there is no early repayment fees but the fixed there will be.
I am just wondering if due to the amount we owe would any savings made be eaten up with fees etc. Thanks in advance0
