Sample sale, what to expect?

My sisters convinced me to go to a dress sample sale. I know what dresses I like but they are all either over budget or not available for me to try on in my search radius.
Can anyone tell me how a sample sale works? I know I'll be measured but can I then just browse or do I have a limit on how dresses I can look at? Do you try them on?

Not sure where you got the idea of where you'll be measured - a sample sale is exactly that, it is one off samples, in the size they are in on the shop floor only, at a discount price. Think Supermarket Sweep meets the Next Boxing Day Sale, with a lot more elbows and occasionally some fights.
You go, you pick X amount of dresses, try them on and if you like it buy it. You won't have any staff to help you get dressed, so take a friend - the staff will likely be busy with restocking, taking payments and getting people in and out as quickly as possible.
As you have some physical limitations, I can only advise against this - its tough enough for able bodied people to scrum down, you will be shoved everywhere.
If you're struggling financially, perhaps try on some dresses at a local salon then get them online cheaper? Lightinthebox, ebay and a few others all provide bespoke tailored wedding dresses for under £100, and many brides have been happy with what they got.0 -
The website says they measure and direct you towards your size, they also have X tickets per slot so I got tickets for 9am thinking there will be less madness, might cancel if it's bad.0

I've never heard of a sample sale measuring people, but if they say it then they must offer it.
You won't have anyone helping unless you bring them and it is usually pandemonium. Maybe see if there's any reviews of the specific sale event you're going to, as I'm sure there are plenty of different ones out there.0
