Bought a parsnip and butternut squash bake from Tesco a month ago - froze it not realising it said unsuitable on the back. Got it out tonight it's got some ice inside. I've put it in the oven for an hour anyway .. Will it be ok to eat? It's effectively just veg cheese and breadcrumbs?!

It will be safe to eat but the texture might not be right. As long as you don't mind that, eat away!0

Thanks I was thinking so, I'm gonna see how it comes out and taste a bit0

If you don't want it, pm me and I will make good use if it!
No, next time. Two parsnips. Cauliflower, or broccoli. Blanche in boiling water. Half pint of milk, boil and leave some in jug. Add tbsp of cornflour, touch of mustard powder, garlic. Add boiled milk. Stir in 4 oz of grated cheddar. Bring to boil.
In oven dish, place parsnip and cauliflower, or other left over vegs. Pour over cheese sauce. Add a bit of frozen spinach. Bake in oven at 180c til crusted!
Far better than giving emporium T for preordained muppet food.0 -
I ate it and it was fine just needed some watery juice draining.
Thank you blackbeard I will actually save that now. I absolutely love parsnips but never have any good meals focused on them. Hence why I picked it up. I'll try that out next week0 -

It's nice mixed with mashed potato as a shepherd's pie topping but I do find it needs draining so I defrost the potato & swede/parsnip separately.
I reserve the liquid to add to the gravy.0 -
Carrots in house of BoP are like doorstops, they do not mash!0
