FTB: Student Loan & Mortgage

Hi,
I had a student loan in 2004, still not paid off.
There seems to be conflicting information whether the loan repayments are taken into account when applying for a mortgage / affordability test? Is it the discretion of the lender?
Also, what about pension contributions? i haven't 'opted in' to my pension via work yet, not sure whether to stay out and hope for best? or do some lenders prefer you saving for pension??

Student loan payments are always included, since April 2014.
Pension payments are included by some lenders, not by others.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
