Hi,

So I received this email on the 17th Feb, it's not great English so I think it was saying i was selected as a winner? So i responded to accept as requested. Nearly 4 weeks and I hear nothing despite an email checking they received my email as it was time bound and also trying to clarify what happens next.

Please, communicate your acceptance to the following address vuelveabrillar@turismodecanarias.com within 15 natural days from the reception of this E-mail.
According to the drawing held, by accepting you will be considered winner in case that the main winner or the substitutes that follows does not accept .

We are looking forward in receiving your confirmation.

Next email received today-
You have to receive a confirmation from us sating that you are the winner. If you haven’t this confirmation than you are not included in the definitive winner list.
Don´t hesitate in contacting us if you have any further questions.

I finally get something back today to say if I haven't heard anything I am not the definitive winner? I am really confused!! Can anyone else work this out? Was I picked as a backup in case someone didn't reply and informed of it but because they claimed I don't win?? It's just so weird...

Thanks guys, just needed someone else to look and help as I kept reading in different ways and just getting myself confused- lack of sleep and total baby brain! Wish they just waited to see if the winners replied first before contacting me.. Ah well lol

Here's what it says in the T&Cs:

"....will extract seven winners as well as 14 alternates.....

Canary Islands tourism shall inform participants its status as a winner or alternante by simultaneous email. The winner of the draw and alternates must communicate their acceptance by email and refer to the address to which they wish to receive the award. The communication made to alternates in their capacity as such and excepted by them will be considered acceptance of their winning status if non-acceptance of successive winner of the draw or alternates. All this in the time limit of 15 natural days starting from the last date communication received. Non-acceptance of the condition of winners and/or successive alternates, including information requested, will generate the loss of such a condition proceeding to considered as such successive alternates who have accepted the order of the draw."


So looks like you were somewhere in the bottom 14 of a list of 21 people (all emailed at the same time) and either all 7 winners accepted and sent a correct address in time or if they did use any of the alternates information, it was people higher up on the list than you
