Has anyone been up around Fanad / Lough Swilly?

Check out Rathmullan0

It's a beautiful part of the world with great restaurants and pubs, astounding scenery and friendly people. Rathmullan is further away and a bit more touristy - lots of people from Belfast have holiday homes there.Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

Bump!
I didnt get going last year, but thinking about going up there in mid April. Rathmullan looks nice, but bit pricey. Does anyone have any suggestions for someonwhere that is nice but not £220+ a night?0 -

Avoid Easter week, thats seems to be the problem, a 2 night stay at most Donegal hotels on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th comes to about £150 for 2 people for 2 nights, including breakfast and some even do 1 evening meal and health club facilities too for that price.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
You could do worse than try Mulroy Woods Hotel, more reasonable price bracket. Recently refurbished and name changed. https://www.booking.com/hotel/ie/milford-inn.en-gb.html?aid=356930;label=metagha-link-localuniversalGB-hotel-40252_dev-desktop_los-1_bw-12_dow-Sunday_defdate-1_room-0_lang-en_curr-GBP;sid=8acfa5e9c2952243113d437d9e298f1b;checkin=2017-04-23;checkout=2017-04-24;ucfs=1;highlighted_blocks=4025201_99117363_2_41_0;all_sr_blocks=4025201_99117363_2_41_0;room1=A%2CA;hpos=1;dest_type=city;dest_id=-1504517;srfid=e25778634c79b5b5befe8e8551c033f74cc0f0feX1;from=searchresults;highlight_room=#hotelTmpl0

Well don't dare take your kids out of school in term time, like that man from Coleraine.
Is he a brother of ex NI goalkeeper Jim Platt by chance?“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -
