What you say of course does have some merit and the correct timing can help in some cases. But on balance, I dont think weather your going to get a BRU or not should be the decisive factor in ones decision - yes it shoud be taken into account, but lets be honest if you are considering bankcruptcy its normally due to have very few other options and action is needed imminently most people on the cusp of bankcruptcy would prob not be able to last another 2 years. As you say its down the individual and a bit of luck, i only got asked for 6 months, and only provided 2 statments i didnt have anything else, 5 min chat etc, so in if someone gets a easy ride like this waiting 2 years would of been a waste, you could of been 2 years into your BRU by this point. Being bankcruptcy and gambling i suspect the debt was high, so one could argue a 5 year BRU is a fair price to pay for getting all that debt wiped, it stays on your file for 6 years so you will have done your BRU by then and be free with a fresh start. In any event they can look back 5 years if they wish, which i suspect they would if you rock up with 2 years of perfect bank statments but 50k debt - they will need to find out why and its obvious it was not in those 2 years. So you wait 2 years and they dont even check your staments - not everyone gets asked to provide them, so i would tell people to think about it carefully. Bru vs delay vs same outcome anyway . Yes i would of said 2-3 years normally for a bru unless certain negative circumstances, you may of just been slightly unfortnate, so i woud be wary of taking this as a standard practise, likewise people need be wary its not always a 5 min chat and over like with a simple case.0

Hi all
I just wanted to update everyone who helped me figure some things out on here way back in march! Since I started this thread 7 months ago life has been hell! Two family deaths one from my side and one from hubbys side. We had to go through a horrible process of having a beautiful mastiff biscuit put to sleep as she bacame very aggressive and it was exhausting trying to keep the whole world safe!!! Especially with 5 children! Worst thing I had to experience! Then I also have my youngest daughter being assessed for autism! All this whilst being broke, trying to file for bankruptcy and life just feeling life is pointless 😢
So everything has taken a very long time with lots of emotions and tears................
I can however say WE FINALLY SUBMITTED OUR BANKRUPTCY FORMS YESTARDAY (4/11/16) we are now just waiting to hear something! Feel free to give any advice on what we should expect or need to do from now! Thank you for all that you have done since I started the thread in march! 👍🏼👍🏼 Will let all know the outcome 👍🏼0
