I had a large amount of debt (a lot more than you, rather embarrassingly!) and was successfully accepted for a couple of mortgages, one right at the upper end of the affordability calculation, with remarkably little fuss from the lender so it obviously can be done.

As others have said though just because it can be, doesn't mean it should be.

That will be a decision for you as you work through your finances and see how comfortable you are with your ability to pay off both mortgage and debt at the same time leaving you enough headroom to deal with any other financial issues you might face along the way.

Great and informative. I'll be a first time buyer soon and have just under 3k of CC debts.

The impatient side of me wanted to put 3k more on to the deposit and buy ASAP where as the moral of this thread is to wait a bit longer and have zero debt instead.
