Bathroom Tiling (Belfast)

Hi All,

I'm saving up to get my bathroom tiled and I recently got a quote for the entire job, it came in at £2200. This included the tiles (a basic white tile), tiles on the floor and PVC for the ceiling.

The bathroom is roughly 10f by 12f and 12f high.

Is £2200 in the region I should be looking at and does anyone recommend any good companies in Belfast to get a second quote from?

Thanks

Based on the measurements you have given (are you sure the ceiling is 12ft??) the white tiles will be around £450 (£8/m2), the floor tiles about £200 (@ £14/m2) and the glue/grout about another £60. The materials for the PVC roofing should be no more than £200. That leaves labour costs of £1300.

All rough costs of course, but I suspect the labour will be fairly similar across quotes. It will come down to workmanship and that you will only find out once it is done.

Probably closer to 10f high, I think the quote was for around £1200 of labour so you're spot on.

If the OPs measurements are correct the wall tiles are approx. 47m2 £8/m is £376, floor tiles are 11m2 @£14 = £154, grout & adhesive seems too cheap @ £60 to be honest, trims aren't mentioned.
My tiler would cost me £1042 for the areas above.
    Tiling then is approx. £1630
Then you've got your PVC & skips for waste, tile trims, any plumbing works ???

    beware of cheap tilers

A friend of mine employed a cut price tiler

He was cheap for a reason!

His workmanship was a disaster, the job ended up costing more than double to put right

Sounds like the price I have been quoted is reasonably spot on then?

I should have qualified my post by saying that I'm not a tiler, but I have recently done my bathroom so I have an idea of material costs.

Always a 10% allowance with those figures as we don't know where your tiler is buying the tiles.

Tiler is buying the tiles and I do know his work is fairly decent too.

Where is a good place to get a quote from a reputable firm?

Get a second quote, I'm sure there are good firms that others on here will be able to advise you on.
