Compensation

I was hit by a vehicle today as a pedestrian that failed to stop. The police have been informed.
I have only suffered bruising. Can I claim anything?

You can claim that you were bruised!
Seriously, just be thankful the car didn't kill or seriously injure you and get on with the rest of your life.0 -
If you cannot trace the driver then pretty much no.
If you can and have the details from the police then you could go down the route of a no win no fee solicitor but with only bruising then they would be unlikely to take it on as the fee would be so low (compensation amounts are set and for anything that sounds that minor it would be very little)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Doctors/ medical reports, hospital visits, ongoing treatment/ perhaps months/ years to see how badly the "injuries" are going to affect you long term/ rest of your life . . . etc etc0

If you cannot trace the driver, then you claim through the MIB. The no-win no-fee will help with those as well.:)
Mind you, I do think there might be a £300 excess. That might cover some 'bruising'. Depends on how serious it is - like the man said; Doctors/ medical reports, hospital visits..... etc and so forth.0 -
Give over man, get on with your life and thank your lucky stars that you still have one.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Does MIB cover cases where it's not a car on car accident and the injured party doesn't have their own insurance?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
