What is a first timer buyer?

Ok, seems like a simple enough question, but is it?
What is the actual definition as per the mortgage lenders?
You see I bought a house (on a FTB mortgage), sold it and rented for a few months and now want to buy again.
As I have no current mortgage situation does that qualify me for a FTB mortgage? or are they really only for the first property you buy?
thanks
John

Each lender is different
Some lender indeed mean it to be the very first property you buy.
Other lenders have pre-determined timescales (in their criteria), after which you can be classed as a FTB with them
However in terms of actual rates and deals, it does not make that much differenceI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
