Hi all,
My car renewal was due with Open and direct the other day, I obviously priced around and went to open & direct with cheaper prices which they usually try and match, the girl in the office seemed embarrassed and told me that with them now being owned by abbey they can only discount the price by £25, I went to an online company as they were over £100 less, anyone else notice any changes? I had been an open & direct customer since I started to drive

Directline or Aviva online all the way :T got £70 Quidco cashback last July too with Aviva :T

Local insurance firms are like local banks here, parasites, praying on those who won't shop around.

Sister had policy with O&D and like you they wouldn't reduce to match so I moved her to directline and set up Quidco for her too.
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

I was insured with Open&Direct for the last couple of years. Got the renewal this year. I thought the price was ok and since I was really busy in work etc, I was planning on renewing with them. I rang and just asked if that was their best price but they said they couldn't talk to me about price unless I had alternative quotes!!!!

I went online and saved £100 with Aviva.

Thank-you Open & Direct for having such awful customer services :j

Absolutely Steveymp....I never say no to free money :j

Just checked back at the actual amounts and it was almost £90 saved on the quote plus £60 Quidco (the rate in Dec15). Thank-you again Open & Direct. It was a pleasure not doing business with you :rotfl:
