I have just finished my level 2 course and my portfolio is completed and has been verified. But now they are saying I need to do the functional skills, is this a way for them to get more funding out of me?

I assume you're doing an apprenticeship?

You will not be awarded the full framework unless you do the functional skills.

They are quite quick to do depending on your levels, yes they will get funding for it but you will also get something out of it, you make it sound like they only want you to do it just so they get funding.

Your provider will have already got all their funding for the academic year, they are making sure they use it all.

what do you mean the full framework? what would happen if i refuse to do the functional skills

Is this part of an apprenticeship? If so refusal may well result in your dismissal.

I'm confused why you would not want to do the functional skills elements. They will be key to your future employment prospects.

If on an apprenticeship you agreed to do the framework at the beginning when you filled in all the paperwork, so you could be dismissed for refusing.

Don't understand why you wouldn't want to do them, it's another feather in your cap and a free qualification. Plus they last forever so would not have to do them again.

Im not sure what this is about. Can you be more clear please?

Its like me saying,

"they said I have to get one, do you think they are a reputable company"?

It will be the provider saying that, as they will not be able to claim the full framework.

Maybe they thought the op was exempt at the start but now realise they are not so they have to do it before making their claims.
