Couldn't you equally apply that statement to a lot of other places at present?

And what on earth does it tell you about the long term future of the UK. When the average house price in Herts is £10 million how will all these people earning so little be able to afford to buy them?:D

the Y gen have been either the most privileged or at least the second most privileged generation in history : never have the young had it so good.
The young of the UK are probably in the top 90% of the world in terms of health, income, opportunity, education etc.

what exactly are you complaining about?
well yes, the massive over regulation of the housing market and the massive increase of population due to migration, have to change if the housing issues in the SE are to be addressed.

Or a few people need to be moved out of London to the midlands and north

the private rental side is a very competitive market. Literally thousands of competing landlords in each postcode all of whom try to achieve full occupancy by setting the rent at a level where that happens.
