State Pension query

So there IS/WAS an absolute max of combined basic & s2p/serps then?
See https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/447195/new-state-pension--effect-of-being-contracted-out.pdf
A person receives up to the maximum basic state pension depending on years of contributions.
He may also have Graduated Pension http://www.monetos.co.uk/pensions/state-pensions/graduated/ and additional state pension made up of SERPS/S2P.
http://adviser.royallondon.com/pensions/technical-central/information-guidance/general/state-second-pension-explained/
Clearly there was a maximum amount that could have been earned.
If a person had never been contracted out then he would receive the maximum BSP, GP, SERPS and S2P to which he was entitled.0 -
..and surely this is incorrect - surely there is no "deduction" on the old system for being contracted out, just a lower amount of earned s2p/serps? Or was there an absolute max of sp that could have been earned, and therefore a COD is nominally taken off this max to produce the s2p/serps element over & above the basic sp?
this may sound pedantic, but isn't a lack of absolute clarity in official communications just fuelling public misunderstanding?

I've read a lot of Chris Williams' posts. She has the right idea on a little and the wrong idea on a lot. Far better to read posts here which explain the single tier pension correctly. Please also look at the WASPI website which goes into state pension unfairness for women born in the 1950s and gives a link to a petition.
Been extensively debated here. 1995 Act was very fair. 2011 Act not fair for those born 1953-56 who didn't have enough notice.0 -
This is an extract from my SP estimate letter from my BR19 query form:
Unless they have changed it again to put the detail back?0
