Gym: DW Boucher or DW Shawsbridge?

Hi,
I'm thinking of joining DW gym. I had thought the only option was Boucher Road but I've just seen that they have taken over LA Fitness at Shawsbridge, so now I'm not sure which one to join. Does anyone have any advice over which they prefer and why? Main things I'll be looking to use are treadmills, swimming pool and sauna really.
Thanks,
BDA

Go dig an old persons garden, sweep their leaves, clean their windows! All the exercise you need, it's free, and you'll feel good as well!0

As far as I can remember, DW allow you to access all branches with their standard membership so you could join one and try out both to see which one suits best? I used to be a member and used the Boucher branch regularly but they tended to run out of consumables towards the end of each month (blue paper towels, shower gel, toilet roll) and the changing rooms were dirty on occasion (mould on shower walls, lockers broken, etc.). No idea what Shawsbridge is like, wasn't available when i was a member.Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

Hi OP - did you join Shawsbridge? I'd like to know if they have made over the LA Fitness pool, it was nowhere near as nice as DW Boucher.0

Yes, I went ahead and joined Shawsbridge a couple of weeks ago. I like it so far. They have said they'll be replacing all the equipment over time to bring it up to the standard of what's in other DWs. Don't think any recent work has been done to the pool. Guessing there will be gradual changes rather than anything overnight.0
