So :hello: again, Savvy here - aka Mr Incompletist:o:rotfl:.
Do I have some further items today? Of course!:D
Including more Fuchsias that were still missing even after I added 7 yesterday!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I've just thought that I was going to be adding another seven, but I notice one of them is already there (at least I did a partial job:rotfl:) so is will be a further six.
So, within the space of 24 hours, there are quite a few additions now in the queue - and far beyond the Fuchsias. I have already changed a couple of items so as not to have you getting less for your money (IMO) - I put the Regina Blitz Kitchen Towels 3 rolls at £3 in A or 3 for the price of 2 at £3 in M (should not compare as they are different products), so either/or, onto the list yesterday. I am now moving to Freedom Rhino Jumbo Kitchen Towel, which is a single roll of 250 sheets at £1 in M.
I think I ended up with T's Eday Value Kitchen Roll as being the best value of the supermarkets when the double roll vs single roll glitch at A didn't return - however I understand that T's rolls are 220 sheets so, based on sheets, Freedom Rhino appears now to be better. One thing is for sure: it makes the Plenty "The Fat One" look very thin indeed! "50% extra sheets". Compared to what?:p However, the Freedom Rhino are a lot more and, at least in my eyesight, and I am therefore sure in indisputable fact, are fatter. The Freedom Rhino say they are equivalent to 5 kitchen rolls - however I don't buy many of only 50 sheets:(, so I think that it is little bit of an embellishment maybe - but, nonetheless, they seem to be better value. Plenty's The "Fat" very thin ones are a 2 pack at £2, so same price per roll for such smaller rolls:(.
The M list update from today will be late in the day again as it's my 'bad' Wednesday when they want their evening meal out again.
I think the fresh veg packs are now getting even riskier than they were yesterday. There's still some 28p stock (of some of them) around in M but it is getting more and more likely IMO that they will start to get full price M. I think Broccoli and Tenderheart Cabbage will already be 'full price' - I have consistency across the Ms I've seen (now a total of four different ones, although that is still a small sample) and no 28p stock or SELs in any of them.
I've managed to visit three stores today - one of those a different store to the three I sort of visited yesterday (it was not quite as full a check of some of them as it is normally is - and, to some extent, I'm in the same position today).
So today it is:
Store 1
Broccoli - 38p stock and 38p SEL.
Sweetheart Cabbage - 43p stock and 43p SEL (consistent across all my four stores this week except one has no SEL but it too has just 43p price-marked stock)
Carrots 1Kg (APG expected to be N/A) - 58p stock and 58p SEL.
Swede - 28p and 50p stock and 50p SEL.
Onions 1Kg - 56p stock only and 56p SEL:(.
However there are some Wonky Onions (1.5Kg) on their BB date at 35p.
Store 3
Broccoli - 38p stock and 38p SEL.
Sweetheart - 43p stock and no SEL.
Carrots 1Kg - 58p stock:( and 58p SEL.
Swede - 28p ones near the front, some 50p ones at the back of the shelving - SEL saying "PRICED".
Onions 1Kg - the majority are 58p stock, there is some 28p stock and no SEL. However, there are some Wonky Onions (1.5Kg) - they do look quite wonky indeed I'm afraid - on 25p whoops.
Store 4
Broccoli - 38p stock and 38p SEL.
Sweetheart - 43p stock and 43p SEL.
Carrots 1Kg - just 58p stock, no SEL.
Swede - just 28p stock, no SEL.
Onions 1Kg - stock near the front of the store is 28p - there is no SEL there - however stock in the main normal place of the veg. aisles (where the onions normally go) is 56p and 56p SEL. I believe the collectors would collect from the main aisles and not stock at the front.
Just to confuse you, Store 4 was the second store I visited today and not the third (or even fourth):rotfl:. I didn't revisit Store 2 that I visited yesterday.
I think it's even riskier than yesterday tbh. As at least some of the Swedes are generally available in M at 28p (and are not comparable items from A), then, if you literally have no Aldi available to you, you could buy them in M at 28p.
As regards the Onions, why bother with Brown Onions (unless it's the cheaper whoopsied wonky stuff)? Wood Farm Red Onions 1Kg are 25p in Aldi. There are also some Parsnips in Aldi at 25p - and they turn out to be 600g packs.
I didn't have enough money for what I wanted to buy in M yesterday so I hid some items I wanted in one of the stores, knowing I would be back at the same store today. I reached that store - my final M today - just in time to see another customer starting to discover the stock of one of the items I'd hidden. Fortunately, as he removed one for himself and I think he was about to take some more, I reached in where he'd just been and took the last two (which were the two I wanted) and I think there weren't any more yet. (I just wanted two - but I hid more just in case.) That was close!
The other item I'd put some stock farther to the back of the shelf. However, within 24 hours, the entire stock of that item has been taken away - the whole box and everything is gone today - probably removed by a member of staff. However, I managed to pick up the items, physical stock available, in an earlier store I visited today:T.
And the other one, an Easter item I wanted - which I found only in one store yesterday and all the stock was gone except one bag that had been torn and most of its contents lost:( - I even managed to find that in the remaining store of the three today! Store doesn't have many different Easter items at all - but the key is to reach down and see the item that doesn't have a price on the shelf at all!:D:rotfl: So, I managed to get that - just a single bag left, which was what I wanted. Mixed in with a load of other items that are not as good value that I've left behind:rotfl:.
So, from my three stores today, I managed to buy everything that I wanted (including the product I hid and that the other customer took one of)!:T:D I'm probably spending far too much money:rotfl:.
There wasn't much Freedom Kitchen Towel in the store I first found the product in. However, I found quite a lot of stock in another M. I think the key there is to avoid the Regina Blitz that they seem to be heavily promoting and you'll find lots of Freedom Rhino instead - store doesn't seem to want us to buy that as, in this store, there's no price on the shelf for that one kitchen towels product:rotfl:. The products with 'missing SELs' are, perhaps half the time and probably more often than that, the best items to buy.
Meanwhile they seem to have done the RTC dog food again:(. The Small Bite Mix that was on RTC - and as far as I know never cleared - has gone back up to £1.50.
I have also now found the Biscuit Jar - and, indeed, it has gone up to £1 from its 50p offer:(. Unless it is a price marked one on a different BC to the ones I've seen in other stores. I think that offer has ended - it was typical really that the product was only in my own stores when it was on 75p offer before and then when it was back at £1, and then I found it at 50p offer in someone else's stores and never turned up at mine until now, today, I've found it in one of my stores (my smaller one:rotfl:) and, as I suspected yesterday, it has indeed gone to £1:(. There will be more other items on the list later:D.0 -
