Which handheld?

I didn't realise they were so cheap. I also assumed that people would keep their games when they upgraded the console so getting games for the older models would be difficult.
A lot of people offload the entire console when the next gen comes out, and only keep a few favourite games (if the new console is even backwards compatible). Equally trade-in games are pretty popular, as a way to stay on the latest game without spending a fortune: particularly amongst teenagers.
For handhelds, I'm about to buy a 3DS: I have a Gameboy Advance emulator and plenty of games (both GBA and iOS) on my iPhone, but I want an actual handheld. The PS Vita is better graphically, but I think the Nintendo games are more suited to a few hours of casual gameplay when travelling or waiting in A&E or whatever it is you're doingThe 2DS is cheaper but as noted, not as durable - partly because the screen can't be closed into the clamshell design.
"You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."0 -
Depends what sort of games you want. If you want the big screen games on a small screen then get a PS Vita, if you just want the Nintendo games (like Super Mario) then buy a 3DS/2DS. I used to own a 3DS XL and it was a great handheld console, good choice of games and big screens, but not too big that it couldn't fit in your bag0
