    Makes sense with the way they have been abused.

    Sainsbury's coupon policy;

    A coupon will be accepted if:
    • It has a barcode
    • It has terms and conditions and they are validated
    • It's not a competitors' voucher (unless specifically advertised in store)
    • The coupon is being redeemed against the correct product
    • We sell the product.
    Coupons printed from the internet can be accepted providing they meet the above criteria.

    It is often the case however, that local store managers will go off on one and make up their own rules. Send a complaint to Sainsbury's central command. They''ll probably apologise and send you a gift voucher.:)

    I had a similar problem I complained to head office and was sent a voucher after using the voucher I never stepped foot in their store's again because the way I was treated in the store was disgusting I think a shop lifter would have been treated better

    Want a definitive answer email Mike.Coupe@sainsburys.co.uk if his managers are going against company policy then his dept needs to know about it if the information on the website is out of date his dept needs to know about it and get it corrected.

    CEO's are responsible, they may delegate it to assistants but they remain responsible, for making sure the company is run correctly and to the law and its own policies.

    Of course it may simply be a poorly trained member of staff or one who has simply misunderstood instructions. I have even been able to use the coupons on the Brand Match site in store so see no reason others should not be valid.
    I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

    You might say that but whats the point of offering printed coupons to you if the shops will not honour them.

    But then I suppose Kernow666 you would be the first to complain if you had a valid printed out voucher for £100 that the shop would not honour.

    Official reply from Sainsbury head office: individual store managers are permitted to refuse these coupons if they so decide!

    Then I personally think they need to add this on the website regarding the acceptance of coupons otherwise it is a bit misleading.

    Subject to managers discretion should cover it.
