A lot of "outdoors" attractions have free or very cheap entry over winter - Zoos can be a good one for this. The kind of places that have running costs all year round (so don't just close October-March), but not great visitor numbers.

The zoo near me just stopped doing it, but they used to be free entry for the whole off-season.

Borrow a video camera and find some things to film (no, not that), make a short story or funny music video maybe?

Taster days/lessons, or drop-in's? A music shop near me had one with some basic music lessons, that was fun and entirely free.

Get some paper and pencils (nothing fancy) and a cheap clipboard, then go be artists for the day: it can be an interesting way to see your partner's perspective on things or just laugh at each others (and your own) incompetency. In fact, this goes for anything you're bad at, dates where you both suck at stuff are hilarious
"You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."
