I've been getting spammed with calls from someone claiming to be a company called "CAH - Claims Advice Helpline".
They say they got my details from my insurer (they didn't).
It's nearly a year since the accident they are calling about, so I guess they've been trawling through publicly available information.
They use some sort of phone re-directing system, so it's never the same number twice and locations of the numbers are all over the place. A quick search on the company shows that the only one of that name was dissolved in 2013.
Not a great deal that can be done, but my insurer appears to be collecting details, so I guess there may be police/lawyers involved at some point.

I've got calls from the same people.
Never been involved in an accident.0 -
We were plagued with spam calls, PPI, accident claims, fix your PC and more. Invested in a phone with call blocker about 6 months back, haven't had a spam call since. Any caller not in the phone's memory is invited to give their name, phone rings and tells you the name. You can then accept, block once or block completely. It's super!0

I'm sure most smart phones have it now but on the iPhone you just hit "block". Very empowering.0 -

Doesn't work with people like these ones - they never use the same number twice.
Take today; the calls had area codes from Aldershot, Great Yarmouth and Tomdoun (?)... each one blocked, of course (I've got an Android app for that), but it doesn't stop the next number they use.
Probably some sort of service someone sells, to route numbers around. Or spoofing the system in some way.0 -
I have caller display and will admit quite freely I do not recognise the number don't answer. If important they can leave a message. Doctor phoning comes up as Private so do answer and its always them.
Mobile again don't recognise number don't answer. And then block or as mine is called Blacklist the number.
I did once answer the mobile I was in a rush out in the street and thought it was a friend calling. Told them straight to F*ck Off and blacklisted the number.I have the voicemail turned off.
