Hi - I was told that you could claim if over 60?? I have been on the gov website and it states you can only claim if born on or before 1953
My husband was 60 on 11 Nov 1955 so according to them he doesn't qualify yet it clearly states if you are over 60 you can claim
Can someone advise me please

From the info. that you've given your husband must be 120 so he certainly qualifies.0

Winter Fuel allowance used to be claimed at 60 -but for several years has started to move into line with State Pension age. This Winter's payment is made to anyone born before 5th Jan 1953. My wife (who was born in March 1953) doesn't qualify until next Winter. In your husband's case. I don't think that he will qualify for a further 4 years at least.0
