Morning all,
Sorry to those with snow but it's brilliant sunshine here today again
Have put two lots of washing on the line to dry. It's so much nicer line dried than airer/tumble dried.
DS2 is ill in bed, he's had a lingering cold and now is dizzy and just doesn't want to eat. He has a cough but smokes which makes it appear worse I think. Managed to get him to eat a cut up apple and some grapes and he is drinking plenty of water which is good.
Off to pop in and see dad on my way to work shortly. Haven't got much planned for the weekend.
Happy Friday all0 -
It was trying to snow as i was coming back from Moms, just flurries here and there but it was cold. I regretted not putting my warm coat on as soon as i left the house.
Mom is now bedridden. Has been for days apparently. She's not eating and drinking little. I tried getting her to drink a few times but although her mouth was very dry she wasnt really drinking it. Just letting it trickle out of the side of her mouth.
I'm not sure whether its just a lack of muscle tone or a recurrence of Bells Palsy but her face has drooped down the one side. I dont think she's had another stroke but whatever, she's on End of Life Care (but still taking her medication) so there wont be any medical intervention.
She is sleeping lots and doesnt seem interested in anything around her.
My eldest Zulu Granchild has had tests done in hospital regarding his medical issues but all seems to have gone well. They were concerned that a loss of hearing was adding to his development problems but that doesnt seem to be the case.
Ive just started put the meat on a low heat for tonights evening meal.
Just a couple of jobs to do before the men come home tonight. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Judi, I am so sorry, I think it is the lingering that makes it so much worse.
I know you said the other day you were ready for the end, but its seeing someone you are close to suffer the indignity so often associated with end of life.
Sending you hugs, and hoping for both you and your Mum a dignified and peaceful end.
Much love

Judi, love and strength to you m'dear. My darling Dad came home for the last few weeks of his life and with a team of care workers Mum and I looked after him during that time. It is incredibly hard to watch a parent or indeed anyone you love come to the end of their life, take comfort and care where you can find it, look after yourself x0

(((HUGS))) JUDI. If the end is nigh for your mum I hope for all your sakes that it's a peaceful one. xx
The falling snow has turned to rain now here and it's helping to thaw the overnight deluge. Please we don't want any more snow! It feels so cold too. Roll on Spring, I have had enough of winter now!
The washing and cleaning got done this morning so it's been feet up time since lunch. The promised soup making session hasn't got off the ground yet!
Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Afternoon - back from the walk leader training which I thoroughly enjoyed. It's been a great day and the weather is very bright, sunny but cold.
I didn't drink enough water whilst there so am filling myself up now. My two 'quick read' books by Ian Rankin and Anne Cleeves have arrived so I can snuggle down tonight to read one.
Going to finish off the limp lettuce in the fridge and probably some more of the harrissa chicken which was very tasty.
Judi - here's hoping things move along well. I remember watching my beloved Dad slip away and it was heartbreaking - I wish you strength.0 -
Judi - sending (((hugs))) and strength to you. Your mum would know you were led there with her.0

Judi
I am so sorry to hear the news about your Mum and hope things are as peaceful and dignified as possible.
My middle dd took me to her house last night as I only have a landline and no internet at the bungalow. I have cooked her a breakfast, chicken noodle and veg stir fry for lunch with two portions to freeze and cottage pie for tonight with another two portions to freeze so she is a happy bunny.
The bungalow is full of boxes to be unpacked and has much less storage space than I thought but I am beginning to get to grips with things. Can't wait to get internet working etc.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"
