Kifir - Anyone make/drink?

Friend was raving about the benefits so I have taken the plunge and bought some grains.

Any one got any tips or hints on how to make or use?

There's a whole forum on Fermenting and Kefir in this forum. It tends to be slow on that forum and email updates have been disabled so you will need to check in every few days to check for replies.

Personally I dislike Kefir because the bacteria/yeasts are unknown and I prefer to make yoghurt from known bacteria strains for maximum benefit rather than chancing on unknowns. That forum might give you other ideas for fermented foods that you could try. The person Sandor Katz whose forum it is, does have some fermentation books available as you can see from the homepage. He also visits various countries doing workshops where the dates can be seen on the homepage.

If the forum link does not take you to the forum you can find it in the resources at the top of the page.
