If you were 20,on a stakeholder pension paying 6%,which the employer matches but doesnt go above 6%
Which way would you go about paying extra in,straight in the main pension,or avc payments?
Not for me for 20yo son,i assume hed be better trying to put more in now when he has spare cash,rather than try to do it when with wife,kids,mortgage etc.

Does he have access to an AVC?
AVCs are normally offered as a means to increment on occupational pension. A stakeholder pension (including group stakeholder pension) is not an occupational pension. If you wanted to pay more, then you would just pay more into the stakeholder. There isnt a need for an AVC.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
