Removeable disc icon arranging

I have a 1gb usb pen drive?
When viewing the stored data, there is a facility to “arrange icons by” it is always set to “auto arrange” I change it so that nothing is ticked, so that I can arrange as I want them, but every time I go back to the disc it has the “auto” ticked, how do I stop this so that the tick is removed from everything and does not revert back to “auto” ?
I have no problems when viewing other folders when doing what I have done above.
