Garment steamers. Better than usual iron?

Have you ever tried the garment steamer instead of the iron?
I am wondering if it really works better on various clothes and materials?
For example a silk blouse?
Can I steam the curtains?
Thanks

We use the steamers in retail, they are good for a quick fix but no good on linen or anything that needs the weight of an iron.0

I have a silk dress I just hang in the bathroom and have a very steamy shower. Might be worth trying with the blouse. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Thank you all guys
I'm at a loss, there are a lot of on the market
Maybe you will advise the true manufacturer?0 -
I use my steam generator iron as a garment steamer. Just hang the garment on a hanger and hold the iron up and steam away. Wouldn't buy a dedicated steamer when the iron does the same job0

Ohhh, I am actually thinking about buying one!
My friends told me that this is a really practical device.
I have found some information on bestadvisor.com
You can also check productreview.com.au ( a lot of users reviews)
Now I am straddling between two (Rowenta and Conair)0
