I`ll be 55, next year and am told by legal & General, that I will be able to apply to have all my funds transfered into my building society account but 25% will be taken off my pension. It is a small pot of £40,000 and my only income is 17,000pa. Also because of my financial situation, I can`t afford to get independent…

And how much goes into your NHS pension each year? Ask HR to give yout eh figure as it isnt just the money you put in.

As if you took your whole pension at 55 from the DC pot you could have problems with your NHS pension?
