S2P and Incapacity Benefit

If I have understood correctly, since 2002 entitlement to build up the Second State Pension (formerly SERPS) was extended to those on Incapacity Benefit (and also presumably DLA).
My husband has been on IB since 2004. What entitlement to S2P is he likely to have from this source? He reaches State Retirement age in January 2014.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Hi 7DW
Try asking the Pensions Service.
They might be able to impart some info, though probably not before a year's time when they resume giving forecasts to people due to retire after 2010. :rolleyes:Trying to keep it simple...0 -
When I was dealing with state pension forecasts - approx 3.5 years ago S2P was accrued at something like (IIRC) £1.50 per year of IB but as EdInvestor says , its best to check as you need a full picture.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Thanks for your replies.
We have asked the Pension Service, a few months ago, but no reply so that's why I've asked here!
Thanks anyway, we'll just have to wait I suppose!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Last time I asked for something off them it took about 2 months and even then the reply was rubbish - if it had been like that when i worked there heads would have rolled for taking so long to reply, even looking at the quality of the reply I received , the standards and knowledge of the staff seem to have dropped.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals.
