They also stipulated that seller has strictly stated the exchange must be done in house as they are the same people moving them into their new property and that this way itll be done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Absolute BS. That's the agent trying to apply pressure on you.
Personally i'd firmly state i was using my own representation. If they then said no deal i'd walk. On principle.0 -
mrcawdell - I agree w/ marksoton 100%.
The agent that our vendor is using told us that unless we went with their in house MA the vendor wouldn't accept our offer. A load of rubbish - we stuck with our MA and she accepted us regardless. I bet she would be annoyed that the agent was willing to turn down our offer of 3k over the asking price just because we wouldn't make them MORE money by using their in house MA.
Good luck hope it goes well0 -
Surely its worth just seeing what the inhouse MA can offer you in terms of mortgage rate and fees. It will either be better or worse than your existing offer. You can then choose the best deal for you.0

Maybe,maybe not but....
a) OP has stated they are happy with their own MA. When i was viewing that was end of conversation AFAIWC with EA's. Those that kept pushing i simply wouldn't deal with anymore.
b) The EA is either 1) lying about the vendor insisting on this stipulation or 2) Convinced the vendor it will make things move faster ( which is a lie)
c) You know what's coming next... "The vendor is insisting you use our legal team..."
I wouldn't care if they're MA could get me 0.1% better. The relationship with my MA and the fact i was effectively getting blackmailed would count for far more...0 -
OP said they had an appointment with the in house MA already arranged, so they must have been over things with them by now. Wonder how it was left?0
