Letter to have incorrect default removed

Hi,
I kindly request assistance with a letter that I need to send to NRAM regarding 2(?) incorrectly listed defaults on my credit file for the same debt.
These are the facts;
1) Received Default Notice on 21/06/2010 advising me to make payment to my debt before 21/07/2010, otherwise steps would be taken to register my debt as in default.
2) Date of Default is listed as 04/10/10
3) Account was settled on 31/07/2011 by way of PPI refund, new account was opened as a result by NRAM, with new account number.
4) This debt went into Default for a second (3rd?) time on 10/02/2012.
I want to complain to NRAM about the fact that the same debt has defaulted at least twice, which is not as far as I aware permissible, and therefore once all of my other defaults drop off my file later this year, will still put me in "credit hardship" for a further 2 years.
If anyone could kind help me draft a letter together to write to NRAM I would be very much graciously appreciative.
Thank you.

Sorry, when I said settled, they closed the account and transferred the outstanding balance to a new account. It's been a long day (on call)

Ok, thought that might be the case, it's normal for them to change the acc no to one not associated to the PPI.
HOWEVER,
the default date should not of changed.
Send them something along the lines of this :
Dear NRAM,
COMPLAINT REGARDING COMPLIANCE
Re original acc no : xxxxxxxxxx
This account originally defaulted on 04/10/10, a PPI refund partially settled the amount owing, and the remaining balance was transferred to a different account number.
You subsequently defaulted this account on 10/02/12.
As you are aware, both accounts are essentially one and the same, therefore an account cannot be defaulted twice for the same debt.
I therefore request you update the credit reference agency's with the original default date of 4/10/10 and expunge the later date from the records.
Yours sincerely
If they won't play ball you can complain to the information commissioners office (ICO).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. To conclude, Northern Rock upheld my complaint and have removed the incorrect default. The original default drops off my file on October 4th!
They took their time over it though!
Thanks again Sourcrates!0 -

So, something tells me that this isn't going to be as easy as it should be. Northern Rock have accepted that the second default shouldn't be there, but the debt is still owned by Cabot, who list the default date as February 2012. Am I going to have to write to Cabot, including a copy of the letter I received from Northern Rock?
Thanks.0
