Moving to the IOM seems to be on a par with taking a punt on Syria now that peace talks are starting. Just face it; wherever you move to the Internet will decide you're taking a worrying risk.
Of course, I have an opinion too. Forget the tax breaks - the weather in IOM is crap. Get yourself down to Cornwall; better weather, blue sea and the best dog walking you could ever hope to find.
The tax breaks are secondary, they will not be part of the initial decision, which will be based entirely on 'would we like to live here more than anywhere else?' (from April to September).
You are forgetting that we will be in Spain/Algarve during the winter (in the this case it would be almost for 6 months), the rainfall in the IOM isn't that different to Cornwall during teh summer months. I don't mind it being about 2 degrees cooler, in fact when I am hiking, jogging or cycling it can be an advantage. I can't pretend that I know from first hand experience that much about the IOM, but is does look a great place to live (if you like the outdoor life). But we wouldn't consider it if we were staying there in the winter.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Have you considered Pembrokeshire similar to Cornwall only cheaper.
It'll be an expensive move when we do it as we'll be going from a cheap part of the country to one that is quite a bit more expensive.
However, as well as loving Cornwall, there are family ties and we want to be within walking distance of them - these ties trump the costs and we should be able to afford them.0
