Hi all.

I'm considering buying a Singer sewing machine (Futura 580 XL) for my other half. It's a beast of a machine so quite expensive.

Create and Craft UK have it for £1600, whereas Overstock.com have the same item at half the price! Half!

Googling Overstock.com brings mostly pretty negative and worrying reviews though, so I'd like to ask MS'ers if you have any experience of Overstock.com before I get too tempted to go down this route.

Or if anyone has any other sewing machine specific retail sources, I'd welcome the tips.

EDIT: My original post might be moot. I registered at Overstock, and went through the cart process out of curiosity - with tax and shipping (which adds HUNDREDS) it gets much closer to the other source I was researching.

Did you read that bit on Overstock's site? Is the machine available in UK spec?

and by the way, Amazon would be a first port of call normally, so it always makes things more challenging when they don't have an item
