Is Council Tax liability Order enforcable after full payment?

It sounds like you're having just as much hassle as me. I stopped paying anything at all for around 8 years due to the arguments we were having which were one sided to them.
You need to go to court, ignore the council representative who will try and make you admit everything before the list they have goes to the magistrate for stamping and allow the case to actually go to court. You then need to defend it.
Just a tip - you don't get "hassle" if you pay on time. that way you don't have to have arguments or go to court to defend it. It also has the side effect of residents who actually pay for council services not having to subsidise those who can't be bothered to pay due to the "hassle" (just a hint direct debits are no hassle - wink)Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -
It sounds like you pay something and it's going to the oldest debt first which then leads to this year's arrears.
You do need to try and get all the information from the council regarding what year(s) you had liability orders and what money has been allocated where. I think you might need to literally work through it line by line ie I paid x, y was allocates here leaving z towards the current year etc. Can you arrange a meeting with them to sit down and go through your account if necessary?

P.s the cost have gone up hugely now ( I think they are several hundred pounds the bailiffs can charge). You need to take into account all the fees and charges as well.

The bill is wrong. I'm not paying a bill that is wrong. They know it's wrong but failed to fix it properly. They fixed some of the years but they still have failed fixed the bill from 2006.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I did think that is was something along these lines but by my records i keep settling debts then they throw another figure at me.
Its such a frustrating situation and im fed up but im not arrogant enough to think i haven't made a mistake when keeping my records.0 -

No these were paid to the enforcement agent when i settled the debt0 -
Can you get an appointment with the council and have a face-to-face meeting so they can explain exactly what they have done with the money you have paid them?0

.
I've put in a subject access request so i can look through everything even though i keep all paper work from the council.
This is good thinking, and "should" get you all the information they hold on you.
It will also show you any and all outstanding liability.
Our council seems to operate a "common sense approach" to matters such as this.
